Anyone played if before?

anyone here have played this game before cuz my first pokemon game that i play is ruby so how was those game compare to d/p/platinum(pl)

I started off playing Red/Blue and I still have to say they still are pretty cool. I would'nt say they compare much to D/P much though because of graphics and new features like being able to battle a trainer more then once. In red/blue/yellow you couldnt do those things. I dont know lol

I would have to agree with that statement I thought it was pretty hard but I remember hating the fact that you couldnt battle a trainer more then once I thought that was really stupid

ya but that just increased the difficulty and i think it would be hard for the developers to do but whatever it was annoying

I bought them when they first came out! I remember I had just gotta my new gameboy pocket which was way better than my original gameboy! I saved up my money to buy them, tho i think my mom mighta helped out a lil. Tho I was distressed when I didn't know anyone who wanted to battle or trade with me. So consequently i never "caught them all"..... Oh well i still liked the games.

lol i had Blue version (and yellow version until my friend decided to put it through the washing machine but tahts another story) and my best friend had Red version.
(i eventually took my sisters red version cause she didnt use it and my friend took his sisters blue)

but yes i went back a few years ago and caught them all.

has anybody ever done the mew glitch?

as for R/B/Y you really cant compare them to D/P cause the technologies are like a decade apart. do you compare new laptops to the IMac? lolz we had those at my elementary school.
the games though are really good and are much more challenging than these new games. they also have the true spirit of pokemon. i played these way back when and i "borrowed" my friends gold version and then 7 years later i decided to buy a ds and diamond for some reason and shebang 493 pokemon? what??? since when???

i think diamond and pearl are too over the top.

what the mew glitche? I have mew and mewto on all r/y/b and i dont remember how i got them. I never went to any events

im not exactally sure. ive seen something where you are about to battle the man in the grass north of cerulean city on the penninsula to the Unknown Dungeon and you teleport out or fly away and then battle another trainer and then walk in the grass but im not exactally sure of the whole thing.

i do know about the way to get 132 of any item that you can have multiple of such as TMs Rare Candys and masterballs

Yellow was my first game and is still my favorite. It was much harder than Diamond, even though the graphics and technology weren't as good. The newer games are full of more to do besides battle and catch 'em all, like the Contests, ribbons, scarves, etc., which I'm not too keen on. Yellow made you feel like a General in charge of an elite corps of warriors, whereas Diamond seems more socially oriented, taking some of the zing out of the game for me.

My grandkids quickly outgrew their games so I never did get a chance to trade or battle other trainers. I love that I can insert the gamepacs from GBA in the DS and the WIFI function, allowing me to finally be able to catch 'em all!
