Hidden power

Does someone know what it means when they say something like hidden power,fire?i know it means fire type or some other type, but how are you suppouse to change hidden powers type 
if anyone knows it, please post it...

hidden power is determined by the Individual Values (IVs) of a pokemon (they cannot be changed)
there are a lot of good IV/Hidden Power guides iif you just google search Pokemon Individual values hidden power and you'll get a lot of good ones
